Aboul Gheit Receives an Invitation to the Arab Conference for Investment in food security in Ras Al Khaimah

HE Dr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, received at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, HE Chairman of the RAK Chamber of Commerce Mohammed Ali Musabeh Al-Nuaimi spearheading a delegation comprising HE Saeed Mohammed Al-Sayah, the Chambers’ first vice chairman and Dr. Khaled Hanafy, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Chambers Hanafi, and Shaheen Ali Shaheen, the Assistant Secretary-General, in the presence of HE Jumaa Mubarak Al Junaibi, the Emirati Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The delegation delivered an invitation to the Secretary General of the League of Arab States to attend the 7th Arab Conference and Exhibition for Investment in Food Security, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates in Ras Al Khaimah under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council - Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, on 18-19 December, organized by the Union of Arab Chambers and Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and in cooperation with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the UAE.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of joining together and continuing joint efforts to raise awareness of the importance of achieving food security in the Arab world and investing in this field.

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States welcomed the Emirati delegation and the General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Chambers and their invitation to attend the 7th Arab Conference and Exhibition for Investment in Food Security, stressing "the importance of holding this conference in these circumstances and at this time, where the issue of food security has become an issue of existence for the Arab world."

Mr. Aboul Gheit praised the topics that will be raised at the conference, considering that the conference’s slogan "Investment in technology and stop wasting for sustainable food security in the Arab world," goes in line with the goals set by the League of Arab States in the priority of achieving Arab food security in the light of natural resources that many of our Arab countries have."

Aboul Gheit acclaimed the role played by the United Arab Emirates in achieving Arab food security, saying that "the issue of food security is the issue of the future in our country, and that the study of its various dimensions, through the careful holding of this conference every year, is the first step to prepare ourselves to face the challenges of this future."

For his part, the Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce, through the organization of this conference with the slogan "Investing in technology and stop wasting for sustainable food security in the Arab world," that the UAE and then the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is keen to benefit from the expertise and minds in developing a comprehensive vision for the future of food security in the Arab world, providing an attractive environment for investors, improving the quality and quantity of local agricultural production, and achieving basic factors for attaining food self-sufficiency, which is one of the most important pillars of the national strategy for food security in the Arab world.
