The President of the Union of Arab Chambers, Muhammad Thani Murshed Al Rumaithi, considered that "the Arab-Chinese Businessmen Conference in its 9th Editon, and under current circumstances, constitutes a great opportunity for progress and development of Arab-Chinese trade and economic relations, and a framework for dialogue and cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit and equal partnership to deepen and expand the cooperation at various levels and in all fields."

Al Rumaithi's words came during a speech he delivered during the opening of the 9th edition of the Arab-Chinese Businessmen Conference and the 7th Investment Symposium, in presence and virtually, and with a joint organization between the Union of Arab Chambers, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Economic Affairs Sector - Department of Economic Relations) and the Council CCPIT, under the slogan "Work Together for a Bright Future of China-Arab Relations."

Ministers, ambassadors, and senior officials from Arab countries and China and specialized Arab organizations, as well as trade and investment development institutions, research, industrial and commercial institutions in China and member states, and a large number of Arab and Chinese businessmen participated to this conference, as the number of participants in the conference in attendance and via video communication reached about 750 participants.

Al Rumaithi affirmed that "China has become a destination for the Arab foreign direct investments and particularly the Emirati ones, thanks to the great development in economic and trade structures and policies that have succeeded in creating an investment climate that has great attractiveness to foreign investors, depending on its distinguished circumstances." He also considered that "the population of China represents a tremendous purchasing power and an effective demand that constitutes a large part of the volume of global demand, in addition to the fact of being a productive force that supports the competitiveness of Chinese products in foreign markets, especially the Arab ones."

He stated: "The UAE and most Arab countries have witnessed major economic developments in the last decade, characterized by their openness to global markets and their adoption of policies that encourage investment, and their tendency towards unconventional markets in their commercial and economic relations, and their possession of advanced infrastructure, and an increase in the number of free zones and advanced industrial zones. From this standpoint, our Arab countries, with their promising investment opportunities, constitute a solid basis for establishing Arab-Chinese cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and scientific and technical cooperation, especially health in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and cooperation in energy, industry, agriculture, infrastructure and business projects.”
