Khalifa Al Thani: France is an Important Trading Partner for Qatar

H.E. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al Thani, Qatar Chamber Chairman, discussed with a delegation of members of the Qatari-French Economic Association "Qadran", ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation relations between Qatar and France, the available investment opportunities and the possibility of cooperation between the two sides in establishing new trade alliances.

Khalifa Al Thani affirmed the keenness of Qatar Chamber to enhance cooperation relations between Qatari businessmen and their French counterparts, which would contribute to increasing trade exchange between the two countries, making France an important trading partner for the State of Qatar.

The Chairman of Qatar Chamber praised the role played by the “Qadran” Association in bridging the distances between the Qatari private sector and its French counterpart, and founding a solid ground for establishing alliances and commercial partnerships between Qatari and French companies.

The Qatari investments in France vary in many areas, including Qatar's acquisition of 100%t of "Paris Saint-Germain" club, 100% of the Elysee building, and 85.7% of "Royal Monceau". The Qatari investments in France also witnessed continuous growth, and included many sectors, such as energy, real estate, hotels, financial services, telecommunications and sports. In the hotel sector alone, it led to the creation of 1,500 direct jobs in France, and thousands of indirect jobs.
