The Algerian company, “Sonatrach”, revealed that the country's revenues from oil and gas increased by 70 percent during the first five months of 2022.

According to “Sonatrach”, revenues amounted to $21.5 billion from January to the end of last May, compared to $12.6 billion during the same period last year. “Sonatrach's” revenues increased by 70 percent in 2021, compared to the previous year, thanks to the increase in the value of its exports of oil and its derivatives.

The company was able to achieve oil exports worth more than 34.5 billion dollars last year, compared to 20 billion dollars in 2020, while revenues from the local market amounted to 2.5 billion dollars.

In addition, “Sonatrach” CEO Taoufik Hakkar told reporters that "Algeria will negotiate with all its customers to review gas prices," noting that "the revision of prices does not target a specific company or country."
