Khaled Hanafi: Important Economic Link Between the Arab Countries and the Countries of Latin America

The Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Dr. Khaled Hanafi, sponsored the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding and Letter of Intent between the Arab Chambers of Commerce in South America to work together to develop cooperation between the two sides, at the headquarters of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).

Hanafi noted this important step, which contributes to increasing rapprochement and serving economic and trade relations between Arab countries and South American countries. Thus, creating greater communication on issues of common interest and joint activities in the areas of expertise of the chambers, in addition to holding seminars and meetings in the service and interests of Arab and South American relations.

He pointed to the prominent role played by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber in the development and development of Arab-Brazilian relations, considering that the memorandum of understanding points in this direction, as the Arab world and the countries of South America are rich in natural resources and need to develop their economic and investment relations within the requirements of the new global economy based on digitization, technology and renewable energy.

The document aims at the need to raise the level of coordination and discussions between the leaders of Arab countries and South American countries in order to facilitate and enhance Arab-South American trade, and to cooperate in building capacities and strengthening their institutional frameworks and human resources.

It is noteworthy that the signing of the memorandum of understanding witnessed the presence of President of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber Osmar Shehafi, Secretary-General of the Chamber Tamer Mansour, President of the Arab-Colombian Chamber of Commerce Cecilia Porras, President of the Arab-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce Hamid Abu Zahr and CEO of Chilearab Consulting Jorge Dacaret.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Paraguay Salem Ismail, the Secretary-General of the Argentine-Arab Chamber of Commerce Walid Al-Qadour, other representatives and executives from the concerned entities. Also Martín Coniago, CEO of the Arab-Uruguayan Chamber of Commerce, participated virtually.
