Growth of Jordanian Foreign Remittances by 1 percent

Remittances from Jordanians abroad recorded during the first seven months of 2022, a growth of 0.8 percent, recording 1.98 billion dollars (1.404 billion dinars), compared with a growth of 0.6 percent to $1.963 billion (1.392 billion dinars) in the same period in 2021.

According to data issued by the Central Bank, remittances from expatriates last July amounted to $290.4 million (205.9 million dinars), compared to $307.8 million (218.2 million dinars) during the corresponding month of 2021.

Domestic revenues increased during the first half of 2022 by about 308 million dinars (435 million dollars) to reach 4.017 billion dinars (5.664 billion dollars), compared to 3.708 billion dinars ($5.228 billion) during the same period last year, as a result of the increase in tax revenues by 263 million dinars ($370 million), and non-tax revenues increased by 45 million dinars ($63 million). Non-tax revenues also grew as a result of an increase in the item of various revenues by an amount of 69.5 million dinars in light of the improvement in the performance of companies to which the government contributes and the increase in revenues that are transferred to the public treasury by it.
