Samir Nass Assumed His Duties as President of the Union of Arab Chambers

The President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Samir Abdullah Nass, has officially assumed the presidency of the Union of Arab Chambers, succeeding President Abdullah Al-Mazrouei, President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the United Arab Emirates.

On this occasion, the new president of the union, Samir Nass, expressed his pride in assuming the presidency of the union, he stressed that "the priorities of the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the Union of Arab Chambers in the next phase are to support all efforts that would increase the volume of intra-Arab exports, and work to encourage increased trade exchange between Arab countries."

Nass stressed that “developing the private sector to advance economic and social well-being in Arab economies will be a priority for Bahrain's interests during its presidency of the new session of the union, in addition to its serious endeavors to develop a road map to enhance Arab economic cooperation and make it more effective and capable of achieving the goals of the visions of Arab kings, leaders, and heads of state.”

Nass expressed his pride in the important and great role played by the Union of Arab Chambers in bringing together the Arab chambers representing the Arab private sector under one umbrella to enhance cooperation between them and coordinate their efforts for regional cooperation and the development of the Arab business sector globally. Pointing out that the Union of Arab Chambers will act as a body representing the Arab private sector within a clear vision and will develop strategies and ideas, especially those related to supporting inter-Arab trade.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Dr. Khaled Hanafi, congratulated the President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Samir Nass, on his presidency of the Union of Arab Chambers for the next two years by transferring the presidency of the Union to the Bahrain Chamber, wishing him success in his new tasks. Pointing out the keenness of the General Secretariat of the Union to cooperate and harness all efforts in order to improve the work and role of the Union of Arab Chambers as the true representative of the Arab private sector.

Hanafi expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to Abdullah Al Mazrouei, President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the United Arab Emirates, for his achievements during his presidency of the Union of Arab Chambers, which culminated in many important steps and successes, especially with regard to supporting entrepreneurship and inter-Arab trade.

He stressed the successes achieved by the Union in the previous sessions to serve Arab economic entities, noting what the chambers of commerce and industry in the Arab countries are doing to make cooperation between them succeed, to contribute to overcoming more challenges facing Arab exports and inter-Arab trade.
