Under the theme "Accelerating the Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area", the 2023 African Continental Free Trade Area Business Forum was held at the Cape Town International Conference Centre in South Africa, with the aim of promoting intra-African trade by creating a platform for participation of the private sector, especially for small and medium enterprises.

The "free trade" agreement aims to boost intra-African trade by 60 percent by 2034 by eliminating all tariffs and creating an economic bloc for one billion and 300 million people, with a GDP of $3.4 trillion.

The Cape Town conference aimed to create awareness of current trade and investment opportunities in the region among the business community in Africa and connect companies to financing opportunities for the value chains of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
