Saudi Arabia Opens Tourism Investment to Countries Around the World

Saudi Arabia has opened the door to international investment in the tourism sector and to help the private sector access global capital to build the facilities a visitor expects and needs. On the occasion of hosting the World Tourism Organization's celebrations of World Tourism Day 2023, in the capital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia revealed the launch of a school specialized in this sector under the name of "Riyadh School for Tourism and Hospitality" with an estimated investment of one billion dollars, to be opened in 2027.

Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed al-Khatib declared that the tourism sector is one of the most important economic activities in the world, and can account for more than 20 percent of the gross domestic product of some countries. He pointed out that the Saudi government has created about 200,000 jobs and still needs 800,000 commensurate with the size of the rooms belonging to hotels and new products.
