The US dollar continues to dominate global reserves in the second quarter!

The US dollar maintained its share of reserves held by central banks at 58 percent in the second quarter of 2023, recording the same levels as the previous year.

The survey conducted by the International Monetary Fund on the composition of official foreign currency reserves (COFER) showed that the share of global reserves in US dollars increased by 0.8 percent to $6.576 trillion in the second quarter, compared to $6.571 trillion in the first quarter of 2023.

In contrast, the share of the US dollar decreased by 1 percent in the second quarter on an annual basis, compared to $6.645 trillion in the same quarter of the previous year.
