Oil prices fell on Monday as aid convoys began arriving in the Gaza Strip amid diplomatic efforts to contain the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas and prevent it from spreading more widely in the oil-rich region.

Brent crude futures fell more than a dollar to $91.14 a barrel and U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell more than a dollar to trade at $87.03 a barrel.

Last week, contracts rose more than 1 percent in their second straight weekly jump, amid fears of possible supply disruptions if the war between Israel and Hamas escalates into a wider confrontation in the Middle East, the world's largest oil supply region.
