The World Bank expects growth in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to accelerate to 3.5 percent in 2024 and 2025, assuming the military conflict in Gaza does not worsen after projected growth slowed to 1.9 percent last year.

In its Global Economic Prospects report, the World Bank predicted that growth in the GCC will rise to 3.6 percent in 2024, increasing to 3.8 percent in 2025.

The bank raised its forecast for the growth of the Saudi economy to 4.1 percent in 2024 and 4.2 percent the following year from 3.3 percent and 2.5 percent in its previous forecast, after a contraction of 0.5 percent in 2023, according to the bank's estimates.
