We are pleased to issue the 48th issue of the Arab Economic Bulletin for the fourth quarter of 2020, which we dedicate to a distinguished group of studies related to Arab food security.

The first study, "Arab food security and the "Covid-19" crisis", deals with the repercussions of this crisis, as the possibilities of a crisis due to high prices are still present, even though the world has so far escaped a crisis similar to what happened a decade ago. The second study reviews "the most important challenges of Arab food security", which has become an obsession and a scientific and practical concern as it is linked to the security and livelihood of people. It highlights the challenges of limited resources and exposure due to the heavy dependence on imports in light of the monopolies in global markets. The third study focuses on "investment in small and medium business technology and its role in enhancing Arab food security." By analyzing the technical gap and obstacles facing the business, investment and trade climate, and reviewing areas of development through mechanization, smart farming methods, renewable energy sources, modern irrigation systems and other pillars of agricultural modernity. The fourth study deals with "leadership and innovation to achieve sustainable agricultural and food production - pioneering Arab and international experiences" as a basic and pivotal entry point for achieving tangible progress in agricultural development. The study reviews the forms and fields of innovation through scientific research, regulatory mechanisms, advanced curricula and entrepreneurship, and by benefiting from pioneering Arab and international experiences. As for the last section, it is devoted to presenting the "Guideline for Organic Agriculture in the Arab World" issued by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, we publish it in this publication due to its importance and the scientific and practical value it contains that contribute to raising awareness and awareness of this vital agricultural method for agricultural development in the Arab world.

We hope to reach Arab agriculture capable of achieving food security in the Arab world and providing a decent life for the Arab nation.
