Sameer Nass Takes Over the Presidency of the FGCCC

On December 12, 2019, the Omani capital, Muscat, hosted the 52nd meeting of the Council of the Federation of Chambers of the Gulf Cooperation Council States, during which they discussed the topics of the agenda, namely the ratification of the minutes of the 51st meeting of the Federation Council which was held in Kuwait on June 19, 2019 and follow up the implementation of its decisions.

The meeting witnessed the transfer of the Federation Presidency to the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry headed by Sameer Abdullah Nass, starting from February 10, 2020 to February 10, 2022. They also discussed the recommendations of the meetings (45) and (46) of the Executive Leadership Committee, and the proposed amendments to the statutes and the internal regulations were discussed. For the Federation, appointing an auditor for the year 2019, adopting the annual report of the General Secretariat of the Union for 2018, discussing the draft annual program for the General Secretariat of the Union for 2020, discussing the draft estimated budget of the General Secretariat for the year 2020, and following up developments in the construction of the new headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Federation.

On the sidelines of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed for cooperation and coordination in private education between the President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sameer Abdullah Nass and the President of the Council of Saudi Chambers, Dr. Sami Al-Obaidy.
