China plans to grow computing and artificial intelligence power by more than a third in less than three years, a move that is expected to benefit local suppliers and boost technology self-reliance.

China, the second largest economy in the world, aims to provide more than 300 “Exaflop” devices, which are supercomputers capable of performing a billion calculations per second.

China aims to provide more than 300 “Exaflop” devices across the technology sector by 2025, compared to 220 this year. The target represents China's latest attempt to build digital infrastructure to stimulate a slowing economy. China also plans to build 20 more intelligent computing centers within two years.
