The regional advisor of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in the Gulf Cooperation Council, Iraq and Yemen, Shaheen Ali Shaheen, participated as the representative of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber in the forty-seventh session of the Arab Labor Conference held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, organized by the Arab Labor Organization, and under the auspices of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

He also participated in the thirty-seventh meeting of the Standing Committee for Labor Affairs in the Union of Arab Chambers, which was held on the eve of the opening of the Arab Labor Conference, whose agenda included important and prominent topics on entrepreneurship and small projects and their role in sustainable development and empowerment. He also discussed the issue of implementing the agreements and recommendations of the Arab Labor Organization, the impact of technological development on the work environment, and the requirements of a green economy to provide job opportunities.

On the sidelines of the conference, Shaheen met a number of labor ministers in Arab countries, including the Egyptian Minister of Manpower, Mohamed Saafan. He also met the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Dr. Khaled Hanafy, and the Director-General of the Arab Labor Organization, Fayez Ali Al-Mutairi.

During his meetings, Shaheen discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Brazil and Arab countries, through the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, which has strengthened its presence and activity in the Arab world by opening a regional office in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). The Chamber is ready to open two new regional offices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt, which would enhance the common interests between Brazil and the Arab world.
