Legislative and regulatory efforts have boosted expectations for the growth of the Qatari economy, as the International Monetary Fund's forecasts indicate that the Qatari economy will grow by about 3.2 percent this year, compared to about 2 percent last year.

Foreign direct investment in Qatar has taken an upward trend thanks to the business environment, the advanced infrastructure, and the balanced performance of the financial sector, which has a direct impact on the gross domestic product, which is expected to rise to 3.9 percent this year.

Also, expectations indicate that the gross domestic product will rise from 161 billion dollars in 2021 to 172 billion dollars this year, and 181 billion dollars in 2023, to rise to 191 billion dollars in 2024, to reach 201 billion dollars in 2025.

It is noteworthy that Qatar approved the 2022 budget with revenue estimates of 196 billion riyals ($53.8 billion), which represents an increase of 22.4 percent, compared to the 2021 budget estimates. Total planned expenses increased by 4.9 percent from last year, to reach 204.3 billion riyals (about 56 billion dollars) during 2022.
