Jordan's GDP Growth is 2.5 percent

The Department of General Statistics in Jordan issued the preliminary results of the quarterly estimates of GDP at constant market prices for the first quarter of 2022. The results showed a growth of 2.5 percent during the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021.

According to preliminary estimates, the economic sectors achieved growth during the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021. The hotel and restaurant sector achieved the highest growth rate during this period, at 6.8 percent, contributing 0.08 percentage points to the achieved growth rate. Then the construction sector with 5.3 percent and contributed 0.12 percentage points, followed by the extractive industries sector with 5.1 percent contributing 0.12 percentage points. Then the finance, insurance and business services sector by 4.3 percent and contributed an estimated 0.34 percentage points to the achieved growth rate.
