Qatar's Balance of Trade Surplus Increased by 89.9 percent

The merchandise trade balance of the State of Qatar, which represents the difference between total exports and imports, during the month of September, achieved a surplus of 89.9 percent, it reached 36.3 billion riyals (about 10 billion dollars), compared to the same month of 2021, rising by 0.1 percent to 100 million riyals, compared to last August.

According to the foreign trade report issued by the Qatar Planning and Statistics Authority, the value of Qatari exports, which includes exports of local origin and re-exports, increased by 70.6 percent to 47.6 billion riyals on an annual basis, while it grew by 1.7 percent on a monthly basis. The value of merchandise imports also increased to reach about 11.3 billion riyals, at a rate of 28.6 percent annually, while it grew by 7 percent on a monthly basis.

Exports of "oil gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons" rose to about 35.4 billion riyals, or 104.2 percent. The value of "petroleum oils and oils of bituminous mineral raw materials" increased by 34.3 percent to nearly 4.8 billion riyals. In addition, exports of "petroleum oils and oils obtained from non-crude bituminous minerals" increased to about 3.1 billion riyals or 13.8 percent.
