Gulf Meeting Discusses Challenges of Economic Integration

A Gulf economic meeting held in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman, discussed the most important challenges and opportunities related to the stages of economic integration among the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Omani Minister of Economy Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Saqri confirmed that intra-GCC exports increased by 13.4 percent to reach $ 83.4 billion in 2021 compared to $ 73.5 billion in 2020.

The meeting discussed a number of important topics, including the decisions issued by the Supreme Council at its 43rd session held in December 2022, on access to economic unity. He also reviewed the proposal of the General Secretariat on the governance of the joint Gulf economic and development work.
