Car sales in Morocco achieved a significant jump in 2023 amid expectations from the Central Bank that the sector’s exports will rise over the next two years to reach 190 billion dirhams ($18.8 billion).

According to the Exchange Office, the sector’s sales increased by 30.5 percent to reach about 116.4 billion dirhams (about 11 billion dollars) at the end of last October. These revenues represent more than 25 percent of the total revenues from various exports in various sectors in the first ten months of last year.

It is expected that automobile exports will rise by 5.8 percent during 2024, which reflects the continued good performance of the sector, which will see its sales rise to $15 billion, in addition to the expected recovery of exports of phosphate and its derivatives by about $8.4 billion.
