Jordanian Tourism Achieves the Highest Revenues in Its History

Jordanian tourism has achieved unprecedented historical levels in terms of revenues. According to official data, revenues reached $ 7.4 billion compared to $ 5.8 billion in 2019, the base year before the Corona pandemic.

The contribution of tourism income to GDP and its contribution to the overall economy last year was 14.6 percent, distributed in services, transport, and trade, and this income represents the outcome of what tourists to the country spend. According to Central Bank data, Jordan achieved the highest foreign reserves ever at the end of last year, reaching $ 18.4 billion.

Tourism income last year grew by 27.7 percent compared to 2022, which also amounted to $5.8 billion, driven by an increase in visitor numbers exceeding 6.35 million.
