India's finance ministry expects the country's economy to grow by 7 percent in the next fiscal year, surpassing that pace in the coming years, supported by a strong financial sector and trade reforms.

The growth forecast for the fiscal year starting in April matches the latest estimate by the central bank governor in Davos and is more optimistic than the 6.3 percent forecast in the Bloomberg survey of economists.

India's economy is highly likely to grow in the coming years at a rate above 7 percent, supported by a strong financial sector and other recent and future structural reforms.
