The UAE's International Reserves Exceed the AED 700 Billion Barrier

The international reserves of the Central Bank of the UAE exceeded the barrier of AED 700 billion, for the first time in its history, by the end of February 2024, and reached AED 707.25 billion, a growth of 1.86 percent, or the equivalent of AED 12.94 billion on a monthly basis, compared to AED 694.31 billion at the end of January 2024, according to statistical data issued by the Central Bank.

The Central Bank's international reserves grew by 5.03 percent, or 33.84 billion dirhams, compared to 673.41 billion dirhams at the end of December 2023. The international reserves of banks also exceeded the barrier of half a trillion dirhams, for the first time in their history, and reached 507.60 billion dirhams by the end of February 2024, a growth of 5.92 percent, or the equivalent of 28.38 billion dirhams on a monthly basis, compared to 479.22 billion dirhams by the end of January 2024.
