Gold fell to its lowest level in nearly three weeks on Wednesday as the dollar strengthened. Spot gold reached $3,318.07 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures for December delivery stood at $3,360.70 per ounce.
The U.S. dollar index rose to its highest level in more than a week, making gold more expensive for buyers using other currencies.
Meanwhile, spot silver fell by 0.4% to $37.23 per ounce, platinum rose by 0.3% to $1,310.06, and palladium dropped 1% to $1,103.95.
