Ahmed El-Wakil, Chairman of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, affirmed that "economic cooperation between Egypt and African countries, and with Rwanda in particular, will be based on four main pillars in the coming phase: transferring Egyptian expertise in power and highway projects, establishing joint industrial zones, enhancing cooperation in technology and tourism, and facilitating African private sector access to development financing."

In a speech at the Egypt–Rwanda Business Forum, El-Wakil explained that "trade exchange between Egypt and African Union countries reached $9.2 billion in 2023, of which $7.4 billion were Egyptian exports."

He considered that "this figure represents a solid base to build upon, given the available opportunities to expand value-added exports."
