U.S. President Donald Trump warned that the United States must reach a fair trade deal with China, saying, “Beijing has taken advantage of America for many years, but things have started to change recently. China has begun to respect America — that’s the difference.”
Trump expressed optimism about improving trade relations between the two nations despite ongoing tensions, affirming that the trade war is not yet settled. He said, “We’ll see what we decide to do.”
He explained that “China will come to the negotiating table, or it will face tariffs of up to 155%,” adding, “If we don’t reach an agreement, I’ll impose double tariffs.”
