The First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, affirmed that “the federal budget for the fiscal year 2026 represents a qualitative leap in the course of government work, reflecting deep confidence in the strength of the national economy and its ability to continue achieving accomplishments in various fields. The significant increase in expenditure underscores the wise leadership’s directive to invest in vital sectors that directly affect people’s lives and ensure sustainable development.”
This statement came following the Cabinet’s approval, chaired by the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, of the Federal General Budget Plan for fiscal 2026 totaling AED 92.4 billion, compared to AED 71.5 billion in 2025 — an increase of approximately 29%, making it the largest federal budget in the UAE’s history.
