Deposits in Kuwaiti Banks Increase 6.34 Percent

Data from the Central Bank of Kuwait revealed that deposits at local banks rose by 6.34 percent during the first nine months of 2025, an increase of 3.413 billion dinars, rising from 53.82 billion in December 2024 to 57.23 billion in September. They also increased year-on-year by 6.27 percent, or about 3.38 billion, after standing at 53.823 billion, but decreased 0.9 percent, or about 533 million, during September.

Private-sector deposits at banks increased 6.95 percent to reach 44.52 billion over nine months, although they declined 0.3 percent, or about 140.9 million, on a monthly basis. Public-sector institution deposits jumped 15.6 percent, or about 1.11 billion, rising from 7.11 billion to 8.223 billion, but declined 3.9 percent, or about 334 million, on a monthly basis.

Government deposits fell 11.7 percent, or about 597.1 million, dropping to 4.486 billion in September from 5.08 billion in December. They also declined 14.2 percent year-on-year, or about 746 million.
