The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, expects the size of China’s artificial intelligence industry to exceed 1.2 trillion yuan (around $170 billion) by the end of 2025.

According to the academy, artificial intelligence technologies are now transforming into a real productive force. Experts report a notable qualitative increase in large language models, with text-processing capabilities rising by 30% over the past year and multimedia understanding skills increasing by 50%.
The “embodied intelligence” sector—combining artificial intelligence and robotics—has become the most dynamic, with funding exceeding 40 billion yuan ($5.67 billion) and around 350 specialized companies operating in the field.
