Core Inflation in Egypt Records 26.6 Percent

Data from the Central Bank of Egypt showed that annual core inflation in Egypt recorded 26.6 percent on an annual basis in June, down from 27.1 percent in May.

According to a Reuters poll, the average of nine analysts expected core inflation, which excludes items whose prices fluctuate such as fuel and some types of food, to decline to 26.7 percent from 27.1 percent in May.

Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt showed that the annual inflation rate for consumer prices in cities fell to 27.5 percent in June from 28.1 percent in May.
