Global German market research firm “Rho Motion” revealed that global electric vehicle sales grew by 21 percent year-on-year in July — the slowest pace since last January — down from 25 percent in June, amid slowing momentum in hybrid vehicle sales in China.
Rho Motion’s data showed that global sales of battery-powered electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid cars rose to 1.6 million units in July.
China is classified as the largest car market in the world and accounts for more than half of global electric vehicle sales, which in Rho Motion’s data include both battery electric vehicles and their plug-in hybrid counterparts.
