The UK economy grew by 0.3 percent in the second quarter of 2025, following quarterly growth of 0.7 percent in the first three months of the year.

The Bank of England had forecast 0.1 percent GDP growth for the April-to-June period.

The British housing market has seen fluctuations this year. The expiry of the tax exemption on certain home purchases in April led to increased demand before the deadline and a decline afterward, followed by a stabilization in demand two months later.

Uncertainty looms over the Bank of England’s next steps regarding interest rates.
