The President of the Tunisian Union of Industry and Trade and the President of the Union of Arab Chambers, Samir Majoul, along with his accompanying delegation, which included several businessmen and investors, met during his visit to Egypt with the Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Engineer Hassan El-Khatib.

Majoul praised the flourishing and tangible development in Egyptian-Tunisian relations in recent times, noting the keenness of the Tunisian private sector to benefit from these distinguished relations to deepen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, given the particular importance of the Egyptian market for Tunisian companies and investors.

He highlighted Egypt’s rapid pace of economic growth and its comprehensive renaissance across various sectors, affirming the desire to expand existing Tunisian investments in Egypt while also studying opportunities to establish new projects in food security and pharmaceutical industries. This, he said, reflects confidence in the strength of the Egyptian market and its strategic importance.

For his part, Minister Hassan El-Khatib emphasized the deep, fraternal, and historical relations linking the two brotherly countries, and their pivotal role in enhancing opportunities for joint cooperation and supporting the path of economic integration. He pointed out the vital role of trade and investment in achieving integration, noting that the ministry works to build balanced trade relations with various countries by strengthening joint investments as a fundamental pillar for expanding and sustaining trade exchange.

He underlined the importance of intensifying joint efforts to achieve balance in trade relations between the two countries, pointing out that doubling the volume of trade exchange will strengthen mutual interests and support economic growth for the benefit of both peoples.

Minister El-Khatib also stressed the ministry’s commitment to resolving all obstacles and removing any restrictions investors may face, in order to create a more attractive investment climate. He further noted the ministry’s keenness to ease burdens on investors and encourage Tunisian investments in the Egyptian market, thereby enhancing opportunities for economic partnership between the two countries.

He explained that Egypt is currently working on a plan to establish six logistical centers for Egyptian products in African markets as part of a strategy to set up Egyptian logistical zones across the continent, thereby strengthening the presence of Egyptian products in African markets.
