Tourism Revenues in Jordan Record $5.3 Billion

Tourism income in Jordan increased by 2.6 percent in August, reaching $932.2 million, compared to a decline of 0.3 percent during the same month last year.

According to data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan, tourism income rose by 7.5 percent to $5.33 billion, compared to a decline of 3.7 percent in the same period of the previous year. This was attributed to a 14.9 percent increase in the number of tourists.

Tourism income from Asian nationalities rose by 38.4 percent, Europeans by around 30.2 percent, Americans by 18.6 percent, Arabs by about 5.5 percent, and other nationalities by 34 percent, while tourism income from expatriate Jordanians fell by 1.3 percent.
