Qatari Economy Grows 1.9 Percent

Qatar’s economy recorded a 1.9 percent growth in real GDP during the second quarter of this year, reaching 181.8 billion riyals ($94.9 billion) at constant prices, compared to 178.5 billion riyals in the same period of 2024.

According to the National Planning Council, non-hydrocarbon activities (those not dependent on oil and gas) represented 65.6 percent of real GDP. Their added value reached 119.3 billion riyals in Q2 2025, compared to 115.4 billion riyals in Q2 2024, reflecting an annual increase of 3.4 percent.

Agriculture, forestry, and fishing were the fastest-growing non-hydrocarbon activities, up 15.8 percent, followed by accommodation and food services (13.4 percent), arts, entertainment, and recreation (8.9 percent), wholesale and retail trade (8.8 percent), and construction (8.7 percent).
