Global Economy to Grow 3.2 Percent in 2025

The IMF’s new World Economic Outlook report showed that tariffs have had a limited impact on global economic activity so far, with a slight improvement in growth rates expected over the next two years.

The IMF raised its forecast for global economic growth in 2025 to 3.2 percent, up by 0.2 percentage points from its previous estimate, while maintaining its 2026 forecast at 3.1 percent.

Among major economies, the IMF increased its projection for U.S. economic growth to 2 percent in 2025, up by 0.1 percentage point, and to 2.1 percent for 2026. In the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the IMF revised its forecasts upward, expecting growth of 3.3 percent in 2025 and 3.7 percent in 2026.
