Egypt’s Economy Records 4.5 Percent Growth

The International Monetary Fund raised its forecast for Egypt’s economic growth in the current fiscal year to 4.5 percent, up from its July estimate of 4.1 percent.

The IMF also lowered its inflation estimate for Egypt in the current fiscal year to 11.8 percent, compared to 12.5 percent in April.

The Fund expects Egypt’s current account deficit to reach 4.3 percent of GDP during the current fiscal year, compared to its April forecast of 3.8 percent of GDP.
