Apple's quarterly revenue fell for the fourth time in a row, while the tech giant's profits rose on the back of iPhones and services.

The company made a profit of $23 billion and revenue reached $89.5 billion, a slight decrease from the same period last year.

Apple CEO Tim Cook explained that iPhone sales hit a new record in the third quarter of the year, while revenue from Apple services reached an all-time high. The company generated $43.8 billion in iPhone sales, while its service unit, which sells products such as Apple Music and iCloud, generated $22.3 billion, a 16 percent increase from last year's results.
