The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) predicted that air traffic levels in the first quarter of 2024 will increase by 2 percent compared to what they were in 2019, with airlines maintaining their operational profitability achieved in 2023.

ICAO predicted that global demand will rise this year by about 3 percent compared to 2019, and the rise could reach 4 percent if the pace of recovery is strengthened in paths that have not yet reached pre-pandemic levels. This translates into an annual growth rate of 0.5 percent during the period from 2019 to 2024.
