Inflation in Germany fell well below its peak after the start of Russia's war against Ukraine to 2.5 percent in February, according to data from Germany's Federal Statistical Office. This was the lowest inflation rate recorded since June 2021, when the rate reached 2.4 percent.

The annual inflation rate was 2.9 percent in January and 3.7 percent in December.

It should be noted that high inflation rates reduce the purchasing power of the consumer. Many German consumers have cut their consumption in the past year.
