Algeria aims to maintain its economic growth rate, which currently stands at 4.2 percent, with government forecasts that GDP will rise by the end of 2026 to $400 billion. The Algerian government had expected the GDP to reach $ 245 billion in 2023.

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune acknowledged that the government is working to reduce inflation, which currently ranges between 7 and 8 percent, to 4 percent as the lowest target. Tebboune revealed that the reasons for the increase in the budget (about $ 110 billion for 2024) are employment and the launch of major projects in public works, water, and other sectors. "Investment is ongoing and the projects that have been launched are the base that will help us increase wages by boosting production," he said.
