The President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture in Lebanon, Minister Mohamed Choucair, said that "Lebanon has a lot of promising investment opportunities, especially that the government will soon start implementing the infrastructure modernization projects adopted by the Cedar Conference and worth 11.8 billion dollars," adding that "we also have opportunities in the field of oil and gas, where the first drilling of the gas well was started"

Mr. Choucair explained during his meeting with H.E. Luis Alberto Castiglioni, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, heading an economic delegation at the headquarters of the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber, to discuss the measures and steps required of the two governments to develop the bilateral economic relations, and he said that "the Lebanese state and the Lebanese private sector give special importance to the development of economic relations with Latin America, and certainly with Paraguay, which is an integral part of this region."

For his part, Castiglioni stressed that "the aim of the visit is to establish the best economic relations with Lebanon and in particular to adopt this friendly country as a platform for the Paraguayan companies to expand towards Africa and the Middle East." He stressed also "the need to increase the economic cooperation and trade exchange in light of the many promising investment opportunities, pointing out that "Paraguay established 15 years ago an economic model which achieved remarkable successes and enabled it to increase its economic activity and activate the economic sectors and achieve high growth rates and increase their domestic output."
