Consumer spending on generative AI-enabled smartphones reached $298.2 billion in 2025, accounting for about 20% of total consumer spending this year.
According to forecasts by Gartner, a business and technology research firm, consumer spending on generative AI-enabled smartphones will reach $393.3 billion in 2026, a 32% increase compared to 2025.
Gartner also predicts that by 2029, 100% of premium smartphones will feature generative AI capabilities. With the rising adoption of conversational AI in the future, users are expected to increasingly view AI as a proactive digital companion rather than just an interactive tool.
