The economies of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries recorded positive growth during the first quarter of 2025.
The report issued by the Gulf Statistics Center showed that nominal GDP for the countries grew by 5.7 percent compared to the first quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, real GDP reached 466.2 billion dollars with annual growth of 3.0 percent.
According to the report, all GCC economies recorded positive growth rates in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year. The oil sector continues to contribute the largest share to GDP at 22.9 percent, followed by manufacturing at 12.7 percent, and wholesale and retail trade at 9.6 percent. Other activities accounted for 26.7 percent of total GDP.
