Morocco’s Ministry of Finance has presented its 2026 draft budget, with a total value of 761.3 billion dirhams ($83 billion), representing a 5.5% increase from last year.

The government expects economic growth to slow to 4.6% next year, compared to 4.8% this year, attributing this to global market uncertainty and assumptions of an average grain harvest.

The 2026 budget priorities include improving healthcare and education and reducing regional disparities. The government expects public investments to increase by 12%, reaching 380 billion dirhams next year. It also forecasts a reduction in the fiscal deficit to 3% of GDP in 2026 and estimates financing needs at up to 48.744 billion dirhams, down 23.26% from 2025.
