The Jordanian House of Representatives referred the 2026 draft budget law to its financial committee, which will begin discussions with ministries, governmental units, and institutions, before presenting recommendations to the parliament. Members will then discuss the bill under the parliamentary dome amid calls to reduce the budget deficit and increase salaries.
In the 2026 general budget draft, the government estimated total revenues at about 10.931 billion dinars (around USD 15.412 billion), including 10.196 billion dinars in domestic revenues and 735 million dinars from foreign grants.
The general consumer price index (inflation) in Jordan rose by 1.87% during the first ten months of the current year compared to the same period in 2024.
